Changing the Game Text
To Convert your Session Text to Spanish
We will make available to you the Spanish conversion. Please be aware that Spanish is varies from region to region, so double check the translation.
Instructions to Edit Game Text (Changing languages)
The game text is the text that appears when a game is in play. We have added a way for you to change a few words or all of the words that appear when a game is played. This will affect what is seen on the game board as well as any Smart devices that participants are using. Making it easy to you to completely change the language of your game if you so choose.
To get started, create, or edit an existing game. Go the Options tab, and on the bottom of the page under Game text, turn on the Use *Custom text for in-game messages and labels. Then click on the Edit text button in blue.
You will note 3 tabs at the top of the Game Text editor they are Text, Export, and Import.
Text
You will note in the fields to the right the existing text that will show up in the game when played. Simply change the text to your liking and when finished click on Save on the bottom right of the page to apply the changes. *Some text for example that shows up like when you launch an instructor led game the initial set up page for teams the instructions will remain fixed because it is intended for the instructor.
Turning Off Your Edits
If later you want to go back to the default text, just turn off the toggle for the Use custom Game Text on the Options page. You can easily go back and forth between the default text and your custom text. When the toggle is to the right (on) any edits made will show up when played.
When the toggle is to the left (off) the session will use the original text when played.
To Export and Import Text to another Game
Click on the Export tab, and then click on the blue Export button. This will copy all of the text to your computer’s clipboard. You can then open up an existing game or create a new game. Go to the Options page of the session to which you want to apply the text changes, and turn on the Use custom game text: Edit text/Import. Click in the Paste text here…field paste the text from your clipboard into this field and click on Import to apply the new edits.
To Export or Import from a Word Document
Another option to share your edited text is to paste it into a Word or similar document. Since the text is text-delimited, you can share that document with anyone or retrieve it later. However, you must copy and import the text described above into your game to apply it.
