SPARK: Assessment vs. Game Mode

Assessment Mode

The assessment mode allows users to skip questions and change answers throughout a session. In addition, answer scoring is hidden by default until the end of the session and will give a score.

Assessment mode strips out all the game references like “Way to go,” question points, and leader board. It has 2 other key functions that are selected when chosen.

1) On the Start page in SPARK, choose PLAY Mode Assessment.

2) Then go to Options Page and under General you have a few options.

  • Randomize the order of questions

  • Allow participants to skip questions and change answers

  • Hide answer scoring until end of session

3) When you enable Allow participants to skip questions and change answers: Notice in the screenshot below that on the top of the question below that there are 6 questions, and 2 have been answered and 4 they are in blue, and that 4 (in light grey) still need to be answered . If for example the user is unsure of the answer in a question, they can skip and come back to it before submitting an answer. All answers can be changed prior to submission.

Students will be prompted to answer skipped questions before submission.

Students are given an opportunity to check and change responses before submission.
